Alpha Day 5: Job Change!

A week and then some has passed since day 4. The developers wanted to make sure we could login and play. I totally thought it was fixed, but they took the week to make sure it was. They did a great job, too! I didn't have any login problems and I could always see monsters and people.

Well, to be honest, I kind of wished there were less people and more monsters. I mean, seriously. I would sometimes run around for 5 minutes looking for something to poke with my lance. It was getting frustrating. After getting my lance skill to 5, I ran a long while north, all the way to the next Aetheryte crystal. I have to wonder what level these mobs are, because there's no one up there fighting. Spread out, people.

After a while, I gave up and teleported to town. Can you believe there are people crafting? Not just trying it out, but hardcore. The whole time I was shopping, this guy was working away with his craft. I guess it takes all types to test everything. I wonder where they get the money and materials. Should I try out crafting next time? Anyway, at the blacksmithing guild, I find an NPC that me an axe. Equipping the axe changed my class to a marauder. Fear the tiny guy with the tiny axe. I am ready to wage war on the next mob I find. When I find one, I mean.

I think part of my frustrating hunting had to do with the red dots on the mini-map lying to me. I would spin around while on a red dot and there wouldn't be a critter in sight. I did find a puk who didn't have a amber warning icon, but he was just as mean as his friends.

I only made a couple levels as a Marauder. It seems to be pretty much the same as the Lancer if you ask me. Use Hack instead of Thrust and Trunkspilitter instead of Skewer and poof, you're a Marauder. I guess I have to play one job more to see the branching of the Disciplines of War. Hope day 6 comes soon.
