Alpha Day 9: Let's Make Something

After all that wonderful grinding last week, I had enough gil that I should try to craft. After looking over all the choices, I decided on Blacksmithing. I'm not even sure why. It was almost randomly chosen. It's not like I have these visions that I'll make amazing armor or anything. I was just hoping to progress enough that I had pants again. Read more »

Alpha Day 8: Grinding

Square Enix wants to test crafting. They should give me some gil then. I wanted to play with a craft, but I can't afford it. I need my gil to stay alive out in the wild. Not that they are making it easy. As soon as I think I have enough gil to try out some crafting, I also find my gear lacking. At least they noticed this. Read more »

Alpha Day 7: Magical Guildleves

I know there is no entry for Day 6. I was out that night and wasn't able to play. I should have posted something. Sorry, please forgive this lowly Miqo'te and her scattered little brain. I'll make it up with something, promise! For now, today focuses on Guildeves and Conjurer.

Tonight's session was magical, in more ways than one. This was the first night I didn't have a single crash, client nor server. Everything was running fairly well, to be honest. I'm astonished how far the alpha has come in just a few weeks. My only major bug was that I had a weakness icon that never faded until I actually died. Then I had weakness for reals, but it went away as it should. Honestly, it's more of a nitpick than anything. I'll file my bug report though. Read more »

Alpha Day 5: Job Change!

A week and then some has passed since day 4. The developers wanted to make sure we could login and play. I totally thought it was fixed, but they took the week to make sure it was. They did a great job, too! I didn't have any login problems and I could always see monsters and people.

Well, to be honest, I kind of wished there were less people and more monsters. I mean, seriously. I would sometimes run around for 5 minutes looking for something to poke with my lance. It was getting frustrating. After getting my lance skill to 5, I ran a long while north, all the way to the next Aetheryte crystal. I have to wonder what level these mobs are, because there's no one up there fighting. Spread out, people. Read more »
