New official video of Final Fantasy XIV was released showing the differences between the alpha and beta. Notice the difference in lighting, the new depth of field effect, and the faster battle system. Read more »

Square Enix released a third live report video from E3. In this installment, we see the 3D version actually being played, looked like someone was beating up a 3D crab. Producer Hiromichi Tanaka also tells us that the alpha phase will be ending this week, and he'll be returning to Japan to help prepare for the beta. Read more »

As you know, today marked the first day of the alpha. Didn't get into the alpha? Want to live vicariously through a player? Check out this video while it lasts. It seems one of the participants has chosen to leak some footage of the game via a livestream on Justin.tv. While we don't recommend you do this yourself (this particular user has already been banned from the alpha), you can benefit in the meantime and watch for yourself.
